Barrancas Avenue Beautification
Barrancas Avenue, between Palao Place and Bayou Chico Bridge
The penny supported a landscaping and streetscape improvement project along one of southwest Pensacola's main corridors. Completed in January 2019, the project installed new landscaping and irrigation systems within the medians along Barrancas Avenue, enhancing the appearance of this Warrington community gateway through its approach to Bayou Chico.
The Barrancas Avenue corridor runs through the heart of a historically nautical neighborhood with a distinct sense of place — one that's defined by its waterfront character and proximity to NAS Pensacola. The median beautification project reflects ongoing investment in the area's identity and livability.
